Are Athletes’ Emergency Contacts Important?
We’ve talked about updating athletes’ data before and are doing it again to help you avoid chaos in a simple way.
Let’s say, an athlete’s contact info changes. The athlete informs the coach, but this change is not properly noted.
What if an emergency arises and the athlete’s contact info is not updated? You guessed it…chaos.
The floorball accident
Chaos was about to strike a floorball coach. His group of 9-year old boys was having a regular practice, until Carl managed to hit Mark’s toe so badly that coach had to call an ambulance.
One of coach’s responsibilities is to contact parents when something like this happens. Mark’s mom was abroad and he couldn’t remember his dad’s phone number. Coach was desperately looking for it from the parents contacts list, but couldn’t find it.
Long story short: luckily one of Mark’s teammates’ dad, who came to pick his kid up, knew Mark’s dad and could call him. And Mark had to wear an emergency splint for a few weeks.
How can you avoid chaos?
We hope you haven’t experienced this kind of situation yourself. And we would like to help you keep it that way.
